D&D 5e Character Bio

Built in a village of ice wizards for protecting the village from monsters and raiders. After a natural disaster caused by a young wizard, Shiver was the only surviving being from the village.

After about 200 years of watching over the ice wizard village, and watching its demise, the living construct made its way out of the village with a cloak bearing the crest of the village on its back.

The living construct went out to explore taking along with it, the fore mentioned cloak, a small dagger; the quarterstaff it was known to possess, crafted by one of its original creators.

Roughly 3 to 4 years into exploring the world, the living construct made friends with traveling companions, and broadened his scope of magical skills. He was also given the name Shiver, due to the ice magic that he had been displaying while in combat with monsters and raiders; as most constructs and artificial beings don't have birth right names as other beings do, just a surname of the creator.

The years went by, and Shiver became an established adventurer with quite a bit of wealth

122 years ago, the party that Shiver was with, robbed him of his non-clothing possessions and threw him into a pit in the ruin they were in at the time. Shiver, not being able to see a way out, entered a meditative state for nearly 60 years.

When the ruin walls of the pit Shiver was in collapsed enough for him to climb out, the Great Purge had occurred. All artificial constructs that had existed had been destroyed, killed, or thrown into materials that would kill a natural living being.

Being aware of this fact after learning the history of time when he was trapped, Shiver traveled with his hood up all the time, not letting people see his face to keep from panicking people and to keep from having an uproar.

Shiver quit doing adventuring, and starting roaming the countryside to find where he could be of use, but not have to expose his identity. He found a university in the city of Vinyamar needing a new wizard professor, and applied for it. After several years, the king approached him for counsel on magical incidents around the kingdom. After years of service to King Harland, Shiver knows he's trusted and no longer Shiver no longer worries about being sentenced to a life unlivable.
